Editorial policy
Eastern Cinema Guide aims to make film writing clear, careful and useful to viewers. We distinguish observation from interpretation, give context where it helps, and correct errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, credits and other factual details against appropriate references before publication. Film interpretation is not presented as settled fact: when a reading is debatable, we say so. We take care not to flatten different countries, periods or screen traditions into a single account, and we avoid claims that exceed the material available.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for the publication and its readers. A commercial relationship does not guarantee favourable coverage or control over editorial conclusions. Material created with a partner is clearly labelled as paid or partner content, and placements arranged across the site are identified so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work.
Corrections and illustrations
If you spot an error, contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and update published text when a change is warranted, making the correction clear where appropriate. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; captions or nearby notes identify them when used, and illustrations are not offered as documentary evidence.
